Application Information

Applications for the apprenticeship program are open for two weeks each year. The applications for the Minneapolis and St. Cloud Area Construction and HVAC/R Service Apprenticeship Programs are taken in January.  The specific dates are listed on the Home Page under News and Events.

Application process

* You must apply for the apprenticeship program during the two week period that the applications are open and meet all of the minimum qualifications (see below).

* You need to bring a photo copy of your driver's license and a photo copy of your U.S. State Issued High School Diploma or Minnesota State Issued GED; high school transcripts are acceptable in place of the diploma. If you do not have a U.S. issued High School Diploma, or MN State issued GED, you can take the MN GED test at various testing centers locationed throughout the State.  If you are applying for the HVAC/R Service Program, you will also need a photo copy of your completion certificate and transcripts from a two-year technical college HVAC/R program.

* You must take the Wonderlic Scholastic Level Exam which measures your ability to learn.

* All applicants that turn in a complete application with all attachments and take the Wonderlic Scholastic Level Exam will be invited to an oral interview where the applicants will be ranked, the person with the most points will be at the top of the list, and as the jobs become available the names will be pulled from the list in descending order.

All applicants will be notified by mail with their ranking number within 2 weeks of the interview.
